The nice part is when your are using the lift and tilt, the front aux couplers still have a dedicated pump suppling them, but at a reduced flow (only the high flow section) as opposed to the attachment being completely starved of flow.

Looking to do conversion/upgrade on any common carrier make (CAT, Bobcat, . I guess if you want to you can do anything but adding high flow seems like more trouble than it is worth when you can buy them. Not only do you have to change the pump but you would also have to add a bunch of plumbing since high flow machines have 5 quick couplers and I think you would have to add the switch to select between high and low flow.
My skid steer is a 2011 CAT 279C and just has the standard flow hydraulics with no case drain. The high flow version of this machine comes with a case drain coupler. My plan is to get the case drain coupler and steel line from CAT and then plumb it directly to the tank.

I'm adding a high flow circuit to my skid steer and I want to match industry standard couplers. I don't know if this would be 1/2" or if I should be stepping up to 3/4"? For some reason I suspect many machines are using 1/2" couplers on their high flow circuits. My skid steer is a 2011 CAT 279C and just has the standard flow hydraulics with no case drain. The high flow version of this machine comes with a case drain coupler. My plan is to get the case drain coupler and steel line from CAT and then plumb it directly to the tank. The quick connects on the skid steer go to a spool valve that is controlled by a person standing outside the skid steer. There are spool valves for rotation (forward and reverse) and up and down. So I am pretty sure the fluid only flows one way in and out of the skid steer. I have the original JD 260 skid steerer which does not have high flow. Is there a way modify it so that it has high flow capability? Perhaps a conversion kit. I thas been a great machine but only having low flow has been a limiting factor. Any advice appreciated. Peter

(skid steer style) for compact tract You do not have the hydraulic flow to drive even the lowest flow model of SA20 which needs 6 to 15 gpm. According to Kubota's web site the latest BX23S has a flow rate of 6.2 gpm. Models a little older produced 5.6 gpm. This flow would be a full engine rpm's . Never had a skid-steer but have a 300 acre farm that needs a lot of cleanup, fence row cleanup, new fences, couple of old buildings to take down and lot of brush to clear. I keep hearing that a case 1845c is a good low budget simple reliable machine. My questions, I want to get a hydraulic brush hog and maybe a hydraulic post hole digger. I guess if you want to you can do anything but adding high flow seems like more trouble than it is worth when you can buy them.
