we sold dozens of 1740's Great machines,, as you found out they have clutch wheel engagement not hydro. these will last a long time IF you do not slip them, use the variable speed lever to keep the speed you want with full clutch engagement, Grease the variable unit and always return the variable to slow when parking, as for brakes the correct .
