I'm not sure how to prime the hydrostat. On my skid steer they recommend turning the engine over several times for about 10 or 15 seconds without starting it. Of course you want to wait for the starter to cool off between the periods of turning the engine over. I think some machines have a fitting that can be loosened to make bleeding easier. A little late, but better than never. The Prime Mover LD-50 is a small brute, weighing 6,600 pounds. There were 3 engine options. All steel and no plastic parts. Built for heavy usage, but like anything else it will eventually show its age and parts have to be replaced. I have a 248B skid steer ser #SCL01726 that will take a long time to start after sitting overnight. I noticed the fuel pump will not turn on with the key in run position or even when cranking. Once the engine is running the fuel pump turns on. Correct me if I'm wrong but I think the pump should be on as soon as you turn the key to the run position. I changed the fuel filter on my Cat 252B2 and according to the manual there is a primer pump on top of the filter housing but on this one there is some gizmo with wires going to it. Manual also says there is an inline filter. Lifted the cab, checked all .
