The answer to that was that there is a solenoid neutral valve on the drive pumps that disables them unless other conditions are met such a brake release. Look at the pump for a solenoid. I will try to find that article again. I borrow a deere skid steer that does that occassionally. A fuse works it's way loose in the fuse panel. Just takes a momentary power interruption and it sets the brake. Usually when you start it, you turn the parking brake off and go. Now when you start it, you can't turn the brake off (and therefore, can't move ). We're sitting in the seat, the seatbelt is on, and the safety bar is down.

#1. Hey guys, I have a case 70xt with an odd problem. The loader arms will not come down, unless it is in float position, then they come down nice and smooth. The bucket will roll back and dump fine, and the arms go up fine, just not down. When I try to move them down, I can hear oil passing through what I assume to be the pressure relief. This action causes the brakes to engage, the transmission control to go to neutral, and the park brake indicator to illuminate on the left hand control panel. This prevents the drive sprocket from turning and the 90XT/95XT Skid Steers from moving. Depressing the brake switch again will release the brakes.
